Art print design by Candice Perese for Hôtel Magique.
Totem was created using many layers of colour to create depth in the organic shapes that form the totemic looking gateway.
Many varying ranges of colour overlaid with darker shades, like a veil.
The original artwork was handmade with a wax pencil on heavy-weight ‘Hot pressed’ paper.
Candice Perese is an artist from New Zealand currently residing in Australia.
With a background in painting that has evolved over the last 4 years as a drawing practice she primarily uses heavy-weight fine art paper and coloured wax pencil.
Her work is heavy colour based and subject matter varies but mostly rests on bold and graphic abstract forms, patterns, and gradients.
