Meet the Artist - Naira Angelica

Artist Naira Angelica beautifully incorporated the shared inspiration of the sun into two stunning winning artworks. Inspired by the warm, calm, and quiet elegance of the hotel, this perfectly describes both her works Tied to Light and Cradle of Warmth, which are part of the Artist Suite Collection, curated by Hôtel Magique and Hotel BonSol as a result of our Call for Artists.

"The Mediterranean theme deeply resonates with me. The warmth of the sun, the vibrant colors, and the rich cultural atmosphere are elements that inspire me artistically. I started thinking about the sun not just as a symbol of brightness, but as something that brings ease, softness, and a sense of rest. These pieces are my way of capturing that feeling; “a moment of calm, inspired by light, and shaped by a sense of quiet presence.

I try to find beauty in everything, even in the quiet or ordinary. Nature inspires me deeply; the sky, the moon, flowers, and landscapes often feel like silent teachers, offering both calm and clarity. I’m especially drawn to their colors and moods. I also love visiting museums and discovering how artists throughout history have made sense of the world, learning from them feeds my own practice and curiosity. Growth is important to me, so I’m always expanding my understanding… exploring not only art itself, but also the meaning, symbolism, and ideas that surround it. My work reflects that ongoing journey."

Where are you from, and where is home for you today?

I’m Armenian by background, but I don’t define home through geography or borders. I feel more connected to the idea that we all share the same planet. For me, home is a feeling… a sense of belonging, of peace you carry within yourself. It’s something internal, not tied to any specific place. I find it in certain moments, through connection, or when I’m creating. That’s when I feel most at home.

Why did you start creating art?

Art has always been a quiet companion in my life. As a child, I began drawing intuitively, not with pressure or direction, but from a natural need to observe and express. It became a way for me to make sense of the world around me, translating thoughts and feelings into images when words often felt too small. Over time, my relationship with art deepened. It became a space where I could explore the unspoken.

What inspires you to create art today?

I’m inspired by ideas and experiences that resonate with me on a deeper level… things that feel relevant or meaningful. When something sparks curiosity or emotional connection, it often stays with me until it becomes part of my work. But most of all, I’m inspired by the internal world; the unseen, the emotional, the intuitive. I want my work to hold a kind of insight or quiet understanding, and sometimes to give shape to things that can’t be easily explained.

Why did you apply for the Call for Artists?

Even though the timing was tight, something about it felt important. I didn’t want to miss the chance, or be left wondering what if. I felt I had to at least try.
